Your Mentor And What You Should Look For

By John Moore

If you want to be a real success in the Internet Marketing industry then you could do a lot worse than to get yourself a mentor. Your Mentor should be able to steer you through the difficult waters that you will undoubtedly come across while you are trying to build your internet business, because they have done it all themselves before.

When you look on the internet you will find many different people claiming to be an Internet Mentor or Coach. It is not an easy thing to decide who to work with but it is a very important decision for you.

You should look to find a mentor who is involved in the same business that you are looking to get involved in. It is very rare to find someone who is willing to help another internet marketer without profiting from it in some way. Most internet businesses have a passive income stream attached to them and it is through the mentoring of others that these can be built up.

Do some research into you prospective Mentor. Check for any videos, articles and websites that they have. You need to be sure that they have the knowledge that you are looking for before you commit to them.

Make sure that your prospective Mentor is not just trying to get you to sign up by giving you a false impression of how easy it is going to be. They should always be realistic with you and it should be seen as a warning if they are not. It is rarely the case that it does happen easily or quickly so be careful.

Becoming a successful Internet Marketer can be a long and fairly laborious process and there will undoubtedly be times when you are flagging or doubting yourself. Your mentor need to be the type of person that can remain positive and continue to believe in you, but more importantly they need to have the ability to motivate you and make sure that you believe that you can be successful.

You might want to get a mentor who is in the same time zone as you are. Although this is not essential it may be something to consider as you will probably be having a fair amount of contact particularly in the early days of your business.

Your mentor must be someone with whom you can build a good relationship with. Before you decide whether to go into business with someone, you must speak to them on the telephone or Skype. Make sure that they come across in a way you can relate to. Make sure of their availability and when you can speak to them. You need to be happy with the access you have with them.

It is important to remember that your Mentor has a vested interest in your success. They are prepared to give you their time and knowledge and in return you have a responsibility to make every effort to put into action the information that you are given. All too often people fail in their business and blame the lack of support from their Mentor when the truth is that they did not do what they were told to do.

The building of an Internet business is something that can bring long term income if done in the correct way. A mentor is an extremely effective way of making the process much simpler than going through the process on your own. It is vital that you remember that if you do not put the time and effort into your business it will fail, if you do what your mentor is telling you to do and are consistent with your efforts then success, while not guaranteed, is almost inevitable. - 42255
